A planned visit by Prince Charles to Ulster University's Magee campus in Londonderry this week was cancelled at the last minute after news of the event was leaked.
It is believed there were anxieties over the visit seeming insensitive, given the Bloody Sunday inquiry in Derry into the shooting of marchers by the Parachute Regiment 30 years ago. The prince is the regiment's colonel-in-chief.
