Queen's degree bridges denomination divide

September 15, 2000

Catholics and Protestants are joining forces to teach a degree in theology structured to suit all denominations at Queen's University, Belfast. Degree and certificate courses are planned to start next February.

The course is an initiative of Edgehill College, a constituent college of Queen's for nearly 50 years, which trains all Methodist church ministers in Ireland. The course will be managed jointly with the Jesuit-run Mater Dei Institute in Dublin whose lecturers will travel to Belfast.
