REF 2021: Area studies

The area studies unit of assessment table is topped by UCL and its Institute of the Americas, with a GPA of 3.69.

Behind it, in second place, is the University of Birmingham with a GPA of 3.56.

The University of Nottingham (3.49) follows in third, with the University of Exeter in fourth (3.46) and the University of East Anglia (3.45) in fifth.

At a national level the Area Studies UoA has a GPA of 3.29, with 44 per cent of its submission rated 4*. 579.82 FTE staff were submitted to this UoA.
