Imperial College London came top in the psychology, psychiatry and neuroscience unit of assessment with a GPA of 3.74, up from 3.41. The University of Edinburgh, 11th last time, came second with a GPA of 3.64.
The University of Oxford, first in 2014, came joint third, after not improving its GPA from 3.62. Cardiff University fell from second to seventh despite marginally improving its GPA to 3.55 (from 3.52).
At a national level the Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience UoA has a GPA of 3.17, with 43 per cent of its submission rated 4*. 4039.77 FTE staff were submitted to this UoA.
