Research from the American Sociological Association reveals an unexpected way of helping your children win a place at an elite university: go to a museum. The study, by Harvard University academics, shows a correlation between parents visiting museums and their children getting into the best US colleges. A student's chances of a place were, however, completely unaffected by any extracurricular activities they were involved in.
