Newly discovered fossil footprints offer the earliest evidence for the evolution of reptiles. The discovery by Bristol University's Howard Falcon-Lang of 315 million-year-old fossils in New Brunswick, Canada indicates reptiles are up to 3 million years older than previously thought. News of the discovery has been published in the Journal of the Geological Society of London.
