Research Grants

Applications for financial support of up to €80,000 over one or two years for research on influenza are invited by the European Scientific Working group on Influenza (ESWI). ESWI wishes to encourage research in the following three areas:

-Health care workers immunisation
-Systematic review and economic modelling of influenza vaccines and antivirals
-General awareness of influenza morbidity and mortality in Europe and barriers to the use of vaccines and antivirals

The research must be conducted within and be relevant to Europe. Preliminary proposals of not more than 1000 words must be submitted to the ESWI secretariat by 15 May 2001. Proposals meriting a full project grant application will be selected by 1 June 2001. Outline proposals should additionally include a brief cv of the applicants, including a list of relevant publications and research record. Deadline: 12 noon, 13 July 2001.
