Right balance

Rather more the PAC's sort of thing was the conversation a year or two back between two principals of further education colleges. One expressed a degree of amazement that the other had left his pleasantly undemanding job in a desirable part of the country for a much tougher institution in a town never renowned for the charm and beauty of its environment or inhabitants: "Greed," he explained when pressed.
