Success rates among post-16 students improved significantly in 2001-02, figures from the Learning and Skills Council show. The number of students gaining qualifications rose to 65 per cent from 59 per cent in the previous year. In the same period, success rates among students on work-based learning courses increased from 36 per cent to 39 per cent.
