Mulder and Scully could be interested in strange activities up Lancaster University way, where a UFO society has been founded to "cater for the enormous interest in unidentified aerial phenomena that was apparent in and around the university".
The society seeks anyone interested in aliens, UFOs, Government cover-ups and meeting people but warns, "we are not anoraks". The society plans to offer lectures, visits to sites of special interest and possibly even encountering the aliens they assure us are indeed out there. Andrew Watson, the encounters secretary, will be responsible for organising those tete-a-tetes with the little green men from Mars. As LUUFOS proclaims: "The question is not whether they exist, it's what they are." Lancaster might do well to capitalise on its lead and explore the possibility of franchising its courses to the other planets in this solar system - and beyond.
