Research Councils UK this week published its vision for science for the next ten years. The document is the latest tool in the battle to secure more money in the forthcoming spending review.
The director-general of the research councils, John Taylor, told The THES : "We all feel we need to continue increasing the science budget. There has seldom been a more fruitful set of opportunities in research."
The vision document explores all the major questions relating to the specific areas of research that British scientists hope to tackle over the next decade. But Dr Taylor insisted that there would be room to develop new areas of research.
