Congratulations to colleagues of Alfredo Moscardini of Sunderland University on helping him to escape arrest at Gatwick airport earlier this year. He was handed over to police by a fellow traveller who mistook him for an escaped convict from Parkhurst prison. Word has it that when he claimed he was a professor, police phoned his colleagues, whose description of him as "scruffy" and "unkempt" unfortunately matched the description of the convict. Nevertheless, Professor Moscardini was released and is now said to be cultivating a new image.
