Research Councils UK, the body responsible for coordinating activity between the seven research councils, has announced the funding of nearly 400 five-year academic fellowships across the UK. The fellowships are intended to make academic careers more attractive by offering a secure transition from short-term contracts to permanent academic positions.
Fellows will be expected to contribute to institutions' strategic aspirations and academic plans.
