A highbrow museum of sex is to open in New York later this year. Curators say the institute, to be located on Fifth Avenue, will provide a serious study of the city's history as a refuge for every conceivable vice and as a tolerant haven for sexual diversity. The first exhibition, "How New York City Transformed Sex in America", will be a scholarly look at the history of prostitution, burlesque, birth control, obscenity, fetish and sex scandals.
