A project which uses the latest telecommunications technology to improve pollution control in the North Sea oil industry is the first winner of the Pounds 25,000 Enterprise Oil and Heriot-Watt University Environmental Award. The photoacoustic sensor allows continuous monitoring of dissolved and emulsified oil particles in the water.
