The Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work is applying to set up a national training organisation. The decision came as health minister Paul Boateng announced a review of CCETSW, expected to be completed by the end of October. Michael Farrant, assistant director at CCETSW, said: "The sector has a workforce of 1.2 million and qualifications need to be standardised."
