But fans of the beards, winged-collars and heavy sweaters - in every sense - will be able to download and "remix" some of the classic programmes over the internet.
Bearing in mind the recent revival of cult TV shows from years gone by - not least Dr Who - could "geek chic" take the OU's old programmes to a brand new e-literate audience?
