Stakeholders gather to discuss 'visions of virtual reality and interactive 3D' in FP6

May 16, 2003

Brussels, 15 May 2003

A conference on 'visions of virtual reality and interactive 3D in European funded projects' will take place on 24 and 25 June in Luxembourg.

The conference is being organised in anticipation of the second call for proposals of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6), so that stakeholders can hear of virtual reality and interactive 3D opportunities available under FP6.

Experts will also be present to give their views on future aspects of these technologies. The main focus of the discussions will be on areas covered by the Information Society DG. These include:
- cultural heritage and education;
- knowledge management and data visualisation;
- entertainment, leisure and games.

Throughout the course of the event, there will be networking and demonstration opportunities, enabling delegates to identify prospective partners to submit proposals for virtual reality and interactive 3D projects in the second call of FP6.
