Brussels, 02 Dec 2002
The European Commission's Research DG, together with ongoing thematic networks, is to guide and support the organisation of seminars in January aimed at addressing the main issues and challenges for medium to long term research on sustainable energy systems.
The main objectives of these European Seminars are to inform the research community on the content of the work programme, and particularly the first call for proposals, to discuss the opportunities offered, to involve potential new participants more fully in the preparation of proposals, to facilitate contacts between the planned initiatives and to indicate possible overlaps, interactions and synergies.
The first four seminars will cover CO2 capture and sequestration (London, 8 January), fuel cells and their applications (Brussels, 13 January), hydrogen (Brussels 14 January) and future electricity networks - transmission, distribution and storage of electricity (Madrid 15 January).
