Researchers at Manchester University have joined forces with Dialight Lumidrives - founded by a former student - to develop powerful low-cost LED lighting modules that can provide community-friendly low-energy street and building lighting.
The Department of Trade and Industry is funding the one-year project with a £175,000 grant, with Dialight contributing the same amount to the scheme.
