Essex University has set up an Pounds 25,000 annual fund to encourage innovation in teaching and learning. Staff can bid for up to Pounds 5,000 for individual projects with collaborative bids linking different departments particularly welcome. Pro vice-chancellor Geoffrey Crossick said the fund would provide support in a variety of ways, but especially in giving staff time to explore and develop new approaches to teaching.
