A university has won two awards in recognition of its commitment to a greener future. Thames Valley University has achieved Carbon Trust Standard certification after taking action to tackle climate change by measuring and reducing its carbon emissions by 9 per cent. It has also been awarded "Sapphire" status by WestTrans, a partnership of six West London boroughs, after developing a transport plan promoting sustainable travel choices among its staff. Thames Valley is committed to a 34 per cent cut in carbon emissions by 2020.
