Some of the UK's best amateur boxers met at The Robert Gordon University earlier this month when the institution played host to the British and Irish Universities and Hospitals Boxing Association Championships. The contest attracted competitors from across Scotland, as well as Trinity College Dublin and the universities of Cork and Galway. David Hegarty, the university's vice-president for sports, said it was a triumph that Robert Gordon was now hosting "such prestigious national and international events".
