Three in four nursing trainees in debt

Three out of four nursing students are in debt, with average debts of £3,400, according to a Royal College of Nursing survey of 800 student nurses.

The RCN is campaigning for higher, non means-tested bursaries and allowances for mature students and those with dependents; greater access to student loans and hardship grants; and parity between diploma and degree students in terms of bursaries and length of academic year.
