Brussels, 09 Jun 2006
On 21 June in Brussels, the European Commission and the EU-funded SEEMseed project will hold a workshop on progress towards the establishment of a Single European Information Space (SEIS).
The SEIS aims to offer affordable and secure high bandwidth communications, rich and diverse content and digital services. It is part of the European Commission's broader i2010 strategy, which aims to modernise and deploy all EU policy instruments to encourage the development of the digital economy.
The workshop aims to introduce the i2010 strategy updates, and then discuss how ongoing projects are contributing to the i2010 strategy implementation, and more specifically to the i2010 concept of a Single European Information Space. Participants will then have the opportunity to discuss technical developments, practical deployments in different niches, and policy-oriented results.
