Trinity College Carmarthen is to change its name to Trinity University College. Medwin Hughes, principal, said: "This is a major development in the college's long history and is based on a wide range of factors, including the management of academic quality and standards at the university. Gaining university (college) status will not only impact upon Trinity; it will also redefine Carmarthen as a university town and add to its rich history as a seat of learning over the centuries."
