Brussels, 11 Dec 2002

Two workshops relating to the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) are being held at St John's Innovation Centre, Cambridge, UK in January 2003.

The first event, entitled 'Getting a framework 6 proposal off the ground', on 14 January 2003, aims to equip research managers, researchers and developers with the necessary know-how to submit a proposal under FP6. The content of the workshop will focus primarily on the new instruments - integrated projects and networks of excellence - but much of the content will be equally applicable to targeted research projects.

'Framework 6 - an introduction', on 24 January 2003, explains the Commission's new instruments for research and how these funding mechanisms will operate in practice. The workshop is intended for newcomers to EU research programmes, and for research managers and administrators who wish to update their knowledge for the new Framework Programme. It will consist of lectures, practical exercises and feedback sessions, and should provide plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.

The workshops are organised by Singleimage Ltd, who advise and assist companies, universities, research organisations and administrative bodies wishing to participate in the European Union's Framework Programmes for research and development.
