Proposals are being considered by University College London for a centre that would incorporate the newly merged School of Slavonic and East European Studies and existing departments within UCL. Members of the SSEES council voted unanimously last week to enter into merger negotiations with UCL. Existing UCL departments are strong on Western Europe, while SSEES is a centre of excellence for East European studies.
