UHI sets 2007 target

Jack McConnell, Scotland's First Minister, has said he expects the UHI Millennium Institute to achieve university status by 2007, Scotland's Year of Highland Culture. This is the institute's own target date, although Mr McConnell warned that there could be no short cuts. "Any university must earn its status on the basis of quality," he said.
