The UK should take the lead in European discussions on the next generation of neutron scattering facility and is a "highly credible"
contender for hosting it, a government review has concluded. The facility will play a "vital" role in future research. Options include the upgrading of the existing neutron source at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire and the building of a new one in Yorkshire.
