The UK is leading a project to create a constellation of earth-observation satellites to monitor natural and man-made disasters.
Surrey Space Centre, a commercial joint venture between Surrey University and Surrey Satellite Technologies, initiated the collaboration between the UK, Algeria, China, Nigeria, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam. The satellites will provide daily updates.
