Union aims to enlist TUC in fight against fees

LECTURERS' union Natfhe has called on the Trade Union Congress to challenge the Government over the introduction of tuition fees and the scrapping of maintenance grants. In an amendment to a motion on the Dearing inquiry, to be considered by the TUC in its meeting next month, Natfhe urges support for the Dearing committee's proposals on funding, rather than the Government's. The union has written to David Blunkett, secretary of state for education and Employment, to underline the stance it is taking.
