Union leaders have called for assurance from Derby University that there will be no compulsory redundancies following the university's announcement that it is to merge its schools of engineering, mathematics and computing in August.
The university said the merger was the result of falling recruitment and changing industry needs. It said it would work closely with unions to minimise the impact on jobs.
