Free hugs have been on offer this week to the 5,000 prospective students and their families attending an open day at the University of Aberdeen. Duncan Taylor, in the fourth year of an English and film studies degree, has been inspired by the internationally recognised free hug movement to distribute reassuring squeezes. The University of Aberdeen Student Association film society, Cinergy, was set to capture the clinches on camera, editing the footage into a movie to be screened during the Freshers' Week Film Festival in September.
