There are hopes that a £1.6 million research centre in Scotland could find cures to the world's ills in the depths of the oceans. The University of Aberdeen's Marine Biodiscovery Centre, which opened this week, will look at the potential for oceanic resources to provide answers to medical conundrums, including the cure for cancer. The centre will focus on research into the development of new medicines from marine organisms.
