A major international award has been won by the University of Bristol for an initiative to make working life at the institution more productive, rewarding, enjoyable and healthy. The university's Positive Working Environment scheme was declared the overall winner of the 2009 Global Human Resource Development Awards, run by the International Federation of Training and Development Organisations. Bristol triumphed in a field made up of 22 entries from nine countries. The ceremony took place in Toronto.
