Experts at the University of Cambridge's Language Centre are giving their support to a national programme aimed at motivating young people to study languages. The centre is a partner in the Open School for Languages project, an online resource for secondary school pupils. The website was commissioned by the Department for Children, Schools and Families, following Lord Dearing's 2007 report on languages, which recommended that all children should learn a language from the age of seven.
