A one-year graduate diploma in criminal investigation has been launched by the University of Chester in conjunction with Cheshire Constabulary. The first cohort of 15 police officers was welcomed on to the course by Phil Thompson, assistant chief constable of Cheshire Constabulary, and David Balsamo, dean of social science at Chester. The programme builds on Chester's foundation degree in policing, which was established earlier this year and trains all new officers in the Cheshire force.
