Nobel Prize winning economist and author Amartya Sen has become an honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD). He is currently Lamont University professor and professor of economics and philosophy at Harvard University and was, until recently, the Master of Trinity College, Cambridge – the first Asian academic to head an Oxbridge college. He is a prolific author whose works have been translated into more than 30 languages. He has also lectured to senior executives of the World Bank and is a former honorary president of Oxfam and now its honorary adviser.
