A major retrospective of the Welsh artist Joan Baker has opened to mark the University of Glamorgan's securing of museum status. The exhibition looks back at the artist's 65-year career and presents almost 60 of her oil paintings completed over seven decades. It is just the second solo show dedicated to the artist. Ceri Thomas, art curator at Glamorgan, said the university was "proud to be gaining the prestigious title of museum status and also to be opening up Joan's work to the public".
