The Countryside and Community Research Institute was launched at the University of Gloucestershire's Park campus this week. The institute is a partnership between Gloucestershire, the University of the West of England and Hartpury College. Sir Don Curry is to chair the institute's board. Sir Don chaired the Policy Commission on the Future of Farming and Food, which reported to the Government following the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in 2001.
