Mick Healey, director of the University of Gloucestershire's Centre for Active Learning, has picked up an award for promoting excellent teaching. He has won the Journal of Geography in Higher Education's Biennial Award for 2005-06 for Promoting Excellence in Teaching and Learning. An article by Professor Healey, "Linking research and teaching to benefit student learning", was considered "to represent the most outstanding contribution to teaching and learning in geography".
