Laughter and humour are the subjects of an international conference to be held later this month at the University of Huddersfield. The two-day conference, hosted by Huddersfield's English department, will investigate the phenomenon of laughter in conversation, drawing on theories of conversation analysis and other mainly qualitative approaches. The event is scheduled to start on 24 June.
