A rugby league club has commissioned its local university to help it kick for victory this season. The University of Hull's department of sport and exercise science is to provide a comprehensive programme of analysis and support for Hull Kingston Rovers players' training, rehabilitation and psychology. The programme will involve students taking up placements with the club on match days and during training. Keith Earle, the project coordinator, said: "Sports scientists have worked with top-flight footballers for many years, but this kind of expert help is still relatively new to rugby league in the UK."
