A four-day forum to debate democracy was due to be held by the University of Lincoln this week. Entitled "Magna Carta 2008: Exploring Democracy", it will become an annual event in the run-up to the 800th anniversary of the signing of the bill in 1215. Participants this year include former Labour MP Tony Benn; Liam Fox, the former co-chairman of the Conservative Party; and the first Secretary of State for Justice, Lord Falconer.
