A university has joined a growing trend by mandating staff to deposit research outputs in an online institutional repository. The Central Archive at the University of Reading will become the official record of the university's publications, with researchers required to deposit journal articles and other materials when practical from now on. Reading becomes the 29th UK university to adopt an open-access mandate, joining 140 other higher education institutions worldwide that have done so.
