The first annual Women's Day has been held by the University of Southampton, with the aim of recognising the role of women at the university and their experiences as employees. Debra Humphris, pro vice-chancellor, said: "Women's Day provides an opportunity to explore how we can make further positive changes and enable the talents of our colleagues to be recognised and developed fully. I hope women from across the university will come together to discuss common issues and identify practical actions that can improve women's experiences of work."
