A scheme aimed at engineering better environments for patients and healthcare staff has been given £1.3 million in research funding. Rebecca Cain, assistant professor in experiential engineering at WMG, University of Warwick, has been awarded an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council fellowship. It will help her build a research team tasked with improving the user experience of healthcare environments by getting ordinary people involved in design, engineering and decision-making.
