The chemistry of combustion will be among the subjects studied on a new fire and rescue honours degree. The course, to be launched by the University of Wolverhampton in partnership with the West Midlands Fire Service, aims to prepare students for careers in the fire service. It also includes modules on crisis management and fire law. Students will take on roles as community volunteers with the fire service during the course, which is scheduled to start in September.
