A new £1.6 million analytical research facility has opened at the University of York. The Centre of Excellence in Mass Spectrometry, which has been funded with capital investment from regional agencies, will be used by chemical, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies in the region as well as academics. It will help to solve challenging analytical problems as well as give business the opportunity to harness York's research expertise, said Brian Cantor, the vice-chancellor.
